YPFP London Ambassador Series: His Excellency Roberto Jaguaribe of Brazil
YPFP is pleased to announce the next instalment of our successful Ambassador Series with His Excellency Roberto Jaguaribe of Brazil.
The world’s fifth largest country is already a well-established power in the areas of football and carnival. But Brazil is quickly emerging as a heavyweight in other areas as well, notably multilateral diplomacy. Be it in the UN, where its claim to a permanent seat in the Security Council is well respected, in the BRICs club, where it stands out as having the most solid democratic credentials, or in the WTO, where its candidate Roberto Avezêdo is a frontrunner for Director-General: understanding Brazil’s foreign policy objectives has become crucial to understanding the dynamics of international relations.
This event offers a unique opportunity to hear from one of Brazil’s foremost foreign policy practitioners about the country’s role on the global stage and to ask questions about the future of an emerging giant in multilateral diplomacy.
The Embassy has kindly agreed to host a drinks reception following the event.
