YPFP London 2030 Series: Food Security
When: Tuesday 23 October 2012, 7.15-8.30pm
Where: Committee Room 6, House of Commons, SW1A 0AA
This event is open to everyone.
Join YPFP London for the latest installment of our flagship 2030 Series generously sponsored by EADS. As the global population rises, the climate changes and the world grows increasingly urbanized, increasing strain is being placed on the world’s food supply and creating a host of new development and health issues. As food prices rise there is a pressing need for a better international strategy to ensure efficient and effective access to food. This is coupled with unprecedented pressures on global food production in the developing world as well as growing pressure on the developed world as we face a greater burden from non-communicable diseases related to diet.
Our expert panel will discuss these issues and will feed a lively discussion of this important issue as we move towards 2030. The hashtag for this event is #ypfp2030.
Joining us for this discussion will be:
Laura Sandys MP, Vice Chair on the All Parliamentary Group on Agriculture and Food for Development (APPG)
Mark Driscoll, Head of the One Planet Food Programme, WWF-UK
Dan Crossley, Lead on food systems at Forum for the Future
