YPFP London: 2030 Series - Cyber Security
When: Wednesday 12th December, 6:30pm
Where: Committee Room 11, House of Commons, Westminster, London SW1A 2TT
This event is open to everyone
YPFP London invites you to join us for the latest instalment of our 2030 Series, kindly sponsored by EADS.
In our upcoming 2030 Event our expert panel will be discussing the challenges posed by cybersecurity and how the government and the private sector intend to tackle them. At the Budapest Conference on Cyberspace in October, Foreign Secretary William Hague highlighted the difficulties facing nations in responding to cyberattacks as well as the ever growing threat of cybercrime.
Our panel will touch on the key issues such as how can states respond to a cyber attack? Is the private sector equipped to handle threats of this magnitude without government intervention? Alternatively, does a cross sectoral approach to cybersecurity threaten to privatise the government's response to future cyberattacks?
The hashtag for this is #ypfp2030.
Joining us for this discussion will be:
Peter Apps, Political Risk Correspondent from Thomson Reuters will be moderating
John Bassett, OBE from RUSI
Andrew Beckett, Head of Consultancy and Professional Services from Cassidian CyberSecurity
Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones, Special Representative to Business on Cybersecurity
