YPFP DC: The Face of Emerging Entrepreneurs
Wednesday, November 14 | 7pm
CDC Development Solutions
1030 15th Street NW
Washington, DC 20005
In collaboration with the Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) and CDC Development Solutions, YPFP is delighted to co-host GIST's inaugural US Entrepreneurship Journey, in which seventeen emerging entrepreneurs have gathered from around the world to travel to entrepreneurship hubs across the United States, developing their innovative potential through dialogue and collaboration with their American counterparts. Known as “GIST Transformers,” these men and women were selected as a result of winning rigorous business competitions held by GIST in the last year and they represent the best and brightest of their communities.
The GIST Initiative is a program implemented by CRDF Global and funded by the US State Department that works to accelerate technology commercialization and entrepreneurship in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
The event will include a keynote address by Dr. Jonathan Margolis, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Science, Space and Health in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, with welcoming remarks from Ovidiu Bujorean, GIST Initiative Manager. This will be followed by a panel, led by Natalia Pipia, Associate Program Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at CRDF Global, featuring two GIST Transformers, Mohsin Islam Tiwana, Co-Founder of Artificial Brain Controlled Upperlimb Prosthesis and Nurana Indah Paramita, Founder of T-Files Indonesia. The evening will conclude with a networking reception. Join us to be inspired by the innovative projects our Transformers are working on.
