Jonathan Parish is Senior Policy Planning Officer and Speechwriter to the NATO Secretary General, following a long career in the British Army. He has kindly agreed to give a workshop to YPFP members on insights into the art of speechwriting, an important component in any leader's day-to-day life.

Jonathan Parish was commissioned into the British Army and trained as a helicopter pilot.  His command tours at flight and squadron level were in Germany and at regimental level in the UK.  During his regimental command, operational commitments included deployments to Bosnia (twice) and Kosovo.

He also trained at the Army Staff College, and his staff appointments included a tour as a Military Assistant at SHAPE, Belgium; Head of the concepts, doctrine, digitisation and operational requirements team at the British Army Headquarters Land Command; and Chief of operational support at the NATO Joint Headquarters in Madrid. His final tour in the Army was in the International Military Staff at Headquarters NATO, where he was responsible for the military aspects of NATO Enlargement and Combating Terrorism.

PLEASE NOTE: Spaces for this event are limited to 25 paying members. The RSVP list for this event will close on Friday 11th January by 5pm.

A computer will randomly choose the participants from the paid members who have registered.  A confirmation email will be sent out to each successful recipient and a waiting list will be created for the rest.

Out of respect towards our speakers we ask you to attend the full session of the workshop. If you have other commitments that evening and plan to leave the event earlier, we ask you kindly to sign up for another workshop, where you are able to commit 100 percent of your time.

Nb. To offer a fair chance to other members wishing to participate in this series, the 25 participants of this Tools of the Trade event will be  ineligible for our next event in the series. While we can never guarantee everyone a place, please make sure that you are applying for a workshop you wish to attend.
