YPFP Brussels, in cooperation with the U.S. Mission to the EU, is delighted to invite you to an evening discussion on U.S. relations with the Muslim world with Farah Anwar Pandith, the U.S. Special Representative to Muslim Communities.
In June 2009, Obama delivered a speech entitled “A New Beginning” at Cairo University in Egypt, calling for mutual understanding between the Islamic world and the West, seeking "A new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect”. Three years later, how has this new beginning developed? Has the U.S.-relationship with the Muslim world been altered? Have the events of the Arab Spring transformed this relationship? Does this policy impact the 2012 presidential campaign? How will the U.S. relations with the Muslim world develop in future? What can be learned from the U.S. approach?
You are invited to join YPFP Brussels on Monday, 18 June 2012, for a special drink reception and discussion with Ms. Panith on a wide range of topics related to Muslim communities on both sides of the Atlantic. Register here by Friday 15 June at 16:00.
Please note the location of the reception is the Transatlantic Room at the US Mission to the EU on 13 Rue Zinner. Please remember to bring your photo ID.
