Please join Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Brussels on Tuesday 16 April 2013 at the Mission of Indonesia to the EU for our Spring edition of the YPFP Ambassador Series, with the Ambassador of Indonesia to the EU, His Excellency Arif Havas Oegroseno. Ambassador Oegroseno will be sharing his thoughts and offering his insights into the world of Indonesian Foreign Policy and his country’s standing in the world as a member of the G20 drawing on over 25 years of experience as a career diplomat.

Ambassador Oegroseno has held the position of Ambassador to the EU, Belgium and Luxembourg since September 2010, with previous postings including to the Indonesian Mission to the UN in Geneva as well as to the Indonesian Embassy to Portugal, where he was posted from 1999 to 2002. Prior to taking up his post in Brussels, he was Director for Political, Security and Territorial Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and thereafter as Director-General for Legal and International Treaty Affairs. Ambassador Oegroseno read at law at the University of Semarang in Indonesia as well as at Harvard Law School. He is married and has two children.

About the Ambassador Series: Set up in early 2011, this is the flagship programme of YPFP Brussels and offers young and aspiring professionals in foreign policy the chance to engage first-hand with experts in the field of International Diplomacy. Previous Speakers have included, the South Korean, Japanese, Australian, British, Turkish US, Canadian and Afghan Ambassadors to the EU. The most recent Ambassador to speak as part of this series was the Council of Europe Ambassador to the EU, Tørbjorn Frøysnes, in March.

How to get there?

The Easiest way to reach the Indonesian chancery building from the European quarter is take the metro (purple line 1 - direction Stockel) 5 stops to Tomberg metro station - from there it is a 10-15 minute walk.
