Please join the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Brussels on Thursday 10 January 2013 at the Mission of Canada to the European Union for the first Ambassadors' Series Event of the new year, with the Ambassador of Canada to the European Union, His Excellency H. David Plunkett.
Ambassador Plunkett will be sharing his thoughts with us on EU-Canada relations, Canada's role on the global stage as well as offering advice to budding foreign affairs professionals from over 30 years experience as a Canadian diplomat.
Ambassador Plunkett has been in his current position since July 2011, prior to which he was Associate Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Negotiator (Bilateral and Regional) Trade Policy and Negotiations. Past postings include to the Canadian Embassy in Washington as a Counsellor for Trade Policy in the 1990s as well as to the Canadian High Commission in London from 2002-2006 as Minister Counsellor for Economic Affairs. Ambassador Plunkett is a graduate of the University of British Columbia as well as the University of Nijmegen and YPFP Brussels is delighted to be able to present him as the January Speaker in our Ambassadors' series, kindly hosted by the Mission of Canada to the EU.
