H.E. Dr Brendan Nelson has had a long and distinguished career in Australian politics. He was first elected to Parliament in 1996, having previously served as the President of the Australian Medical Association. His political talent was recognised quickly through his ministerial posts in the Howard government from 2001 to 2007, including a stint as defence minister. After a Labour victory in the 2007 federal election, he became leader of the Liberal opposition. In 2009, the Australian Labour Prime Minister Kevin Rudd appointed Dr. Nelson as the Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg as well as Australia's Special Representative at the World Health Organisation and NATO.

Please RSVP by Thursday 3rd May. Places are limited and will be allocated to fully paid up members only. If you cannot access the form, please email brussels@ypfp.org with full name, organisation, and email address.
