Join Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Brussels on Thursday 21 February 2013 for the latest edition of our Ambassador Series events, with the Ambassador of Afghanistan to the EU and NATO, His Excellency Homayoun Tandar.

Ambassador Tandar will be sharing his thoughts with us on Afghan foreign policy, regional issues, global political matters from the point of view of Afghanistan, as well as offering advice to budding diplomats from his experiences to date.

Ambassador Tandar has been in his current position since January 2011. This is his second posting to Brussels, having held an earlier position with similar responsibilities from 2002 to 2007. Previously, he was Afghan Ambassador to the United Kingdom and has also held the position of Deputy National Security Advisor at the Office of the National Security Council in Kabul. From 1995-2002, he was Chargé d'Affaires at the Afghan Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, and from 1992-1993 Chargé d'Affaires at the Afghan Embassy in Paris.

Amassador Tandar holds both a BA as well as MA in Archeology from La Sorbonne University, Paris. YPFP Brussels is delighted to be able to present him as the February speaker in our Ambassadors' series, which will take place in the European Parliament.
