On December 11th, Wonk University author Dan Perez will join YPFP to discuss his book and help demystify the graduate school selection and application process. "Wonk University - The Inside Guide to Apply and Succeed in International Relations and Public Policy Graduate Schools" was released this November. As the first guide for graduate students interested in these programs, it contains the following features:

  • A Concise Guide to Finding the Right School for Your Professional Needs:
  • Application Tips and Deadlines
  • Data on Programs’ Academic Requirements, Size, and Financial Costs
  • Demographic Survey from Current Students and Alumni
  • “Inside Profiles” of Major Programs written by alumni themselves
  • Advice on Career Searching, Academic Success, and More!

Dan Perez has a long time history with Wonk Universities. He has completed programs at Tufts University, Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and Colombia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). After graduating, he volunteered for SIPA’s DC Alumni Council and began to mentor young professionals interested in graduate programs on international relations and public policy. Noticing gaps in applicant’s knowledge, he began writing down common questions and related advice. In 2013, those notes became the foundation for Wonk University.  While we upgrade our website you can email samantha.powell@ypfp.org with your name and affiliation.  (Please disgregard any message below that this event may be full)
