Volunteer Training begins Monday, June 21st, 2014 and the Summit will take place August 4-6, 2014.
The U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, hosted by President Barack Obama, will be held at the Department of State. The Department is recruiting qualified volunteers to fulfill a variety of important roles and tasks during the Summit. We are opening up this opportunity to college/graduate students, alumni, and other USG agency employees outside of the Department of State.
Volunteers play a vital role during a Presidential summit by helping tomake the meetings and events run smoothly and greatly contribute to the overall ambiance with their courtesy and professionalism–the hospitality conveyed to the foreign delegations is of paramount importance throughout the series of meetings.
As a volunteer for the US-Africa Leaders Summit, you will assist by providing directional support, staffing information desks, facilitating delegate hospitality and needs, and providing other general support to the summit planners, as directed.
