The media landscape is continually changing - especially in Brussels, bound in regulatory agendas and lobbying campaigns. This impacts upon how one should deal and approach with the media. Indeed, one cannot treat all press the same and will have to know the media and the journalists who work there before contacting them to have more chances to be successful. In this Tools of the Trade event, members will gain insights on how to approach the Brussels media, on what stories they are looking for, and how to increase the success of EU media outreach.

Ross Melzer has served as EurActiv’s Public Affairs Director since November 2008. A British-Australian dual citizen, Ross speaks French, German and Spanish. Over a 20-year media career, he has held sales and marketing positions with Time Magazine, Financial Times and, most recently, The Wall Street Journal.

HOW AM I SELECTED?
A computer will randomly choose the participants from the paid members who have registered. A confirmation email will be sent out to each successful recipient and a waiting list will be created for the rest. Out of respect towards our speakers we ask you to attend the full session of the workshop. If you have other commitments that evening and plan to leave the event earlier, we ask you kindly to sign up for another workshop, where you are able to commit for the complete session.
NB: To offer a fair chance to other members wishing to participate in this series, the 25 participants of this Tools of the Trade event will be ineligible for our next event in the series. While we can never guarantee everyone a place, please make sure that you are applying for a workshop you wish to attend.
