Sitting at the Table: Women in Peacebuilding
Time: 6:30 - 8:00pm Thursday, March 6
Location: Grange Hall, 1616 H St NW #10, Washington, DC
To RSVP please email firstname.lastname@example.org (please disregard any messages below that the event is full).
Young Professionals in Foreign Policy is hosting a discussion on March 6th at 6:30 PM on the importance of including women in the peacebuilding process. It is often the case that negotiations only consult governments and armed groups, with the consequence being that the resulting ceasefire or peace agreement fails to address the underlying problems that sparked the conflict. By including women in the peacebuilding process, lasting peace can be achieved.
The discussion will feature panelists with experience working in the peacebuilding process including:
Rafif Jouejati, Director of FREE-Syria; and
Don Steinberg, President of World Learning and former Ambassador to Angola.
Angelic Young, Senior Coordinator of Resolution to Act at the Institute for Inclusive Security
In honor of International Women's Day, please join YPFP Public Service in making a donation to Suited For Change, an organization breaking down barriers to self sufficiency for low-income women by providing professional clothing and career and life skills education.
