Join Young Professionals in Foreign Policy and the International Student House for a speical briefing with Bahaa Hariri, Founder and Chairman of The Horizon Group on his personal perspectives on economic and political developments in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Shibley Telhami, expert on Middle East affairs. 

Bahaa Hariri is the Founder and Chairman of the Horizon Group, a development and investment company with major projects in Jordan, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.  He is the eldest son of Rafik Hariri, the former Prime Minister of Lebanon. The recipient of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Boston University, Bahaa is currently a member of its Board of Trustees.   In 2010, he established the university’s Rafik B. Hariri Institute for Computing and Computational Science & Engineering.  He is also a member of the International Advisory Board of the Atlantic Council and inaugurated its Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East in 2011.     

Dr. Shibley Telhami is the author of numerous books and articles on international affairs and the Middle East. His book “The World Through Arab Eyes” has recently been released. He is a well-respected academic and is the Anwar Sadat Professor for Peace and Development at the University of Maryland, College Park, and non-resident senior fellow at the Saban Center at the Brookings Institution.
