YPFP and the British Embassy Washington welcome you to join us for a conversation and reception with Deputy Head of Mission to the USA, Patrick Davies, and his colleagues Emma Wade and Will Jessett. These distinguished speakers will address key developments in British foreign policy and Britain's role in NATO.
Mr. Davies has served in the British Foreign Office since 1993, and was recently awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth in recognition of his service. He played a pivotal role in British policy-making around the Arab Spring, the Iranian nuclear program and the 2003 invasion of Iraq. A few of his accomplishments include serving as the Head of the Political-Military Section of the Foreign Office's Iraq Emergency Unit during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Deputy Head of Mission in Tehran during the 2009 Iranian presidential elections.
Emma Wade has served as a Foreign Policy Counselor at the British embassy since July 2012. Her previous experience includes a three-year posting as the Head of Political Section at the British Embassy Mexico, and two years as the Head of Crisis Management at Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She received an OBE for her crisis management efforts during 2010 and 2011.
As the Minister of Defense Material, Will Jessett, is responsible for coordinating the UK-US defense relationship. Before joining the British Embassy Washington, he worked with counter-terrorism efforts and NATO policy planning at the Ministry of Defense Headquarters in London.
