2030 Series - The final frontier: the future of space governance
With ever more nations developing the means and the confidence to have a space programme, questions are increasingly being asked about the purposes of these programmes and whether space can remain the relatively peaceful and cooperative sphere it has been since the Outer Space Treaty of 1967. As the economic opportunities of spaceflight and the strategic importance of space-bound technology for positioning and reconnaissance increase, so do the stakes of space dominance.
Discussing the legal, political and strategic implications of the growing interest in space control are:
Elizabeth Quintana, Director of RUSI's Military Sciences Department and head of the Air Power and Technology programme at RUSI
Sa’id Mosteshar, Director of the London Institute of Space Policy and Law, Professor of International Space Policy and Law
Allen Antrobus, Wing Commander and member of the Air Staff at the Ministry of Defence
The event will be followed by a reception sponsored by EADS and RUSI.
This event is open to all but registration is required. To sign up, please click here.
