To volunteer, please click here by April 30 (and please disregard any message below that the event is full)
Join YPFP, 28 EU member nations, and the EU Delegation to the United States for the 2014 EU Open House as embassies open our doors to the public for a day of fun, food, and culture.
This event requires the support of hundreds of volunteers. YPFP is excited to partner with the Delegation to provide volunteer support for this event. On the day of the event, the Delegation provides free shuttle busses for visitors. The Delegation has asked for YPFP to provide volunteers on the buses to answer questions about the EU, the embassies, and the event. The shuttle bus hubs will be near the Dupont Circle Metro, the Van Ness/UDC Metro, and the EU Delegation offices at 22nd & K Street NW.
YPFP is looking for 60-90 volunteers. Most volunteers will be on the buses; some will be at the hubs assisting visitors before they board. We will operate two shifts: 9:30-1:00, and 12:30-4:00. Volunteers will get an EU hat, polo shirt, and umbrella for the event so they are easily identifiable. The Delegation will also host a mandatory volunteer orientation session roughly a week before the event (specific date and time is TBA. We will follow up with more information for registered volunteers).
The Greek Embassy will host a volunteer appreciation event in the days after the EU Open House as a thank you to all volunteers.
We are pleased to announce 2 volunteer training sessions. The sessions will take place on May 5thand there will be a lunchtime session at 12:15 pm – 1:30 pm and an after-work session at 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm. When you RSVP please indicate which training session you plan to attend.
