Elizabeth Zalanga is a Program Assistant with the City of Minneapolis-Community Planning and Economic Development. Within the Minneapolis Employment and Training Division, Elizabeth works with the STEP-UP Youth Employment Program, an internship program for teens and young adults who face some of the greatest barriers to employment, helping them build professional connections, explore career interest, and begin the path to educational and career success.
Elizabeth actively volunteers in her community through serving on the Board and Committees of several nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to addressing the issues of educational disparities, youth health, wellbeing and safety, and youth employment. Elizabeth graduated with distinction with an Associate's Degree-Emphasis in Social Science/ Public Affairs from Saint Paul College. She plans to continue her education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities through pursuing a Bachelor's in Global Studies concentrating in political economy and environmental change.
