WHAT: Discussion Group - "Getting Serious about defence: The changing dynamic between Europe and America"
WHEN: Thursday 13 April, 18.30-20.00
WHERE: The Old Oak, rue Franklin 26
WHO: YPFP Members
Security and defence remains an ever developing field, heavily influenced by the reins of power on both sides of the Atlantic. As we see a rise in global radicalization and tension in various parts of the world, are we truly "getting serious about defence"? How will President Trump (or conversely, his senior military cabinet members) influence the dynamic and future foreign policy and military engagements? Is the new EU military headquarters a threat to NATO - EU cooperation?
YPFP started as a small group of young people getting together to discuss foreign policy issues. We have now become an incredible organization with hundreds of members in Washington DC, London, Brussels and elsewhere. In a world of rapidly changing political landscapes, it is now even more crucial to engage, foster debates, and develop new ideas.
We believe it is time to provide a forum where our members can get together and express their own views. We would love you to join us in this exciting new initiative and discuss on "Getting Serious about Defence: The changing dymanics between Europe and the US?" with us! We will provide registered participants with some articles/reading material before the meeting to provide some food for thoughts.
This will be a great opportunity for you to exchange views on current foreign affairs issues in an informal and supportive setting: come along to meet new friends, build on your knowledge and hone your debating skills!
