WHAT: Discussion Group - EU Foreign Policy and related issues - "The Future of Europe - What's next?"
WHO: YPFP Members
The EU has been rapidly changing in recent years. Issues such as the Euro crisis, the migration crisis, the growth of Euroscepticism(s) and populism and the prospect of Brexit have all taken their toll on the EU as a whole. The 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome and the White Paper by the European Commission on the Future of Europe make it more than clear that the EU has come to a crossroads and needs now to think about the way ahead. But what is indeed the right way forward? More Europe or less Europe? How can young Europeans engage, what do national politicians need to do, and what do the European institutions need to do?
YPFP started as a small group of young people getting together to discuss foreign policy issues. We have now become an incredible organization with hundreds of members in Washington DC, London, Brussels and elsewhere. In a world of rapidly changing political landscapes, it is now even more crucial to engage, foster debates, and develop new ideas.
We believe it is time to provide a forum where our members can get together and express their own views. We would love you to join us in this exciting new initiative and discuss on "the Future of Europe - What's next?" with us! We will provide registered participants with some articles/reading material before the meeting to provide some food for thoughts.
This will be a great opportunity for you to exchange views on current foreign affairs issues in an informal and supportive setting: come along to meet new friends, build on your knowledge and hone your debating skills!
