Daniel Urchick is the Eurasia & Eastern Europe Fellow at Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP). Daniel is a compliance contractor at the Department of Defense. He earned his MA in Political Science from Central Michigan University and expects to receive his MA in Security Policy Studies from George Washington University in 2018. He is also a Researcher on the Eurasia Desk for the online crowdsourcing consultancy Wikistrat. Daniel previously worked at the Institute for the Study of War on the Ukraine/Russia Portfolio during the beginning of the Russian intervention in the Syrian Civil War, where he helped assess geopolitical ramifications of Russia’s actions and provided military capabilities assessments. Daniel has also worked at the Hudson Institute’s Center for Political-Military Analysis on two separate occasions. He writing has previously appeared in Geopolitical Monitor, Small Wars Journal, Real Clear Defense, and Defence IQ.
