Richard Bobo is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where he majored in Sociology of World Development with a regional focus on Africa and a language focus in French. After graduating, he furthered his passion for international relations by interning with the Northern California World Trade Center (NCWTC). In October of 2011, Richard moved to Washington, DC, where he now works for a non-profit organization, Cultural Vistas, to administer the U.S. Department of State’s premier diplomacy program; the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). To date, Richard has programmed visits to the U.S. for 124 delegates, representing 53 countries and 6 continents.
Richard is an active member of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, and has recently joined our programming team. He has participated in YPFP’s “Strategic Communications in the Digital Age” learning module, as well as the “Social Entrepreneurship” learning module. He has spent three summers as an Assistant Director at a summer camp in France, and has studied Spanish in Guatemala. His hobbies include traveling, photography, cycling, cooking, and blogging.
