Alex Godson - Director, Communications and Marketing
Alex Godson is British and moved to Brussels in 2012 to begin an internship with a strategic communications consultancy. He previously worked as Press and Public Affairs Assistant for The Federation of Small Businesses in the UK, and was an intern for both Chatham House and the Fabian Society. He has also worked in China as a journalist and in France in the tourism industry. Alex previously volunteered for the London branch of YPFP, where he worked in the programming and communications departments. He holds an MA in International Relations and a BA in Economics and Politics both from the University of Manchester. Alex speaks English and French and has recently started taking German classes.
William Fox - Deputy Director, Communications and Marketing
William Fox is a joint British-Australian and currently works for EuroCommerce, the European association for retail, wholesale and international trade. Before moving to Brussels, William taught English in France where he absorbed the national and European politics and strikes, aptly preparing William for life in Brussels. He has travelled, studied, worked and lived in various countries, and he continues to enjoy travelling and exploring. He holds a MA in European Studies from the University of Sydney and a BA in International Business from the Australian National University.
Natalia Macyra - Communications Officer
Natalia Macyra is Polish and works as a Trade Policy Adviser and Communications Coordinator at the European Centre for International Political Economy, an independent Brussels-based think tank focused on trade policy and world economy. In this capacity, she is responsible for researching and analysing European trade policy, bilateral trade agreements and trade in services. She also coordinates day-to-day messaging and media relations, as well as internal communications. Natalia holds a MA in International Relations with a specialization in International Trade Policy from the University of Warsaw, Department of Journalism and Political Science. She has also studied at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, IL and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.
Konstantinos Alexandropoulos - Webmaster and External Relations Officer
Konstantinos Alexandropoulos is a Greek national and currently works for the press service of the European Council. Having completed a BA in Communication and Journalism in Athens and a MA in International Relations in Paris, he worked for a series of national and international media across a wide range of platforms, before moving to Brussels for a Robert Schuman traineeship in the European Parliament. Besides his native Greek, Konstantinos speaks English, French and German.
Katrina Murray - Director, Membership
Katrina Murray is a joint British/Australian national and currently works for the Australian Mission to the EU. She moved to Brussels to complete an internship with Clan Public Affairs (now ESL European Affairs) and then joined the FIDI Global Alliance in the international logistics industry. She holds a BA in International Relations from the Australian National University, Canberra and a MA of European and International Studies from Monash University, Melbourne. Katrina speaks English, French, and on occasion fluent Australian.
Noora Lampinen - Membership Deputy Director
Noora Lampinen is Finnish, though born in Sweden, and works for the European Liberal (ALDE) Party in Brussels in events and administration. Noora studied political science – with an MA from ULB in Brussels and a BA from the University of Helsinki with a minor in legal studies from UCM in Madrid. She has worked at the Finnish Embassy in Dublin and also completed several leadership courses. She has further been active in the European Youth Parliament (EYP) and the Red Cross. She has started language courses in German, which one day when fluent, will be her sixth language.
Alexandra de La Bruslerie - Membership Jobslink Officer
Alexandra de La Bruslerie is a French national and currently works for ING Belgium as a market risk analyst. After she had finished her Corporate Finance and Financial Engineering Studies in Paris, she went to London to work as a market risk trainee in AXA insurance for almost 2 years. Before joining ING Belgium in Brussels, she worked as market risk analyst for AXA France in Paris for 1 year and a half. Alexandra speaks French and English and is competent in Dutch and German.
Tzeni Varfi - Membership Events Officer
Tzeni Varfi is a Greek national leading legal projects under her capacity of Researcher Coordinator at European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ). She graduated from the College of Europe in Bruges with a Master’s degree in European Legal Studies. She did an internship in the European Commission, where she joined the European Office of Anti-Fraud (OLAF) and shortly after she worked as Legal Consultant at ECORYS. Previously, she was Project Coordinator at the Helsinki Committee, as well as Assistant Legal Adviser at UNDP. Tzeni speaks Greek and Albanian, is perfectly bilingual in French and English, with good working knowledge of Italian and Spanish.
Olivia ten Horn - Membership Outreach Officer
Olivia ten Horn holds both French and Dutch nationalities. She works at the centre for literacy education in the Brussels region as a financial policy and staff officer. Prior to working in the education sector she pursued professional placements at the Dutch embassy in Paris, SDA think tank, European Parliament and the knowledge management department of an international law firm. She is trilingual in Dutch, French and English. She also has knowledge of standard Arabic having grown up in the Middle East. Before moving to Brussels she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Leiden University and graduated from Sciences Po Paris earning a Research Master's degree in International Relations.
Anthony Spota - Membership External Relations Officer
Anthony Spota is Italian-American and grew up in Luxembourg. He is an Associate at a leading international management consultancy firm, and has had professional experiences with NATO, the European Union, the US Embassy in Rome, and in the third sector. Anthony has an academic background in Political Science and International Relations, having attained a Master’s Degree at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and a Bachelor’s Degree at the Pennsylvania State University.
Jonathan Dowdall - Director, Defence and Security Affairs Programming
Jonathan Dowdall is British and works for the UK Joint Delegation at NATO. He was previously a freelance defence and security affairs analyst, publishing articles and report with the Security & Defence Agenda think-tank, the civil security publication SECURITY EUROPE, the military affairs group DefenceReport and other outlets. Jonathan also volunteers as a contributing editor for Infinity Journal, a strategic affairs publication. Jonathan is a graduate of the War Studies Department at King's College London.
Marine Vallet - Director, Programming
Marine Vallet is a dual French/American citizen and currently works in communications at the European Movement International, an international organisation that works towards a more united Europe. Before joining the European Movement International, Marine completed traineeships at the European Commission and at World Vision in development cooperation. Prior to moving to Brussels, Marine lived in Morocco and worked at a centre to assist street children. She is bilingual in French and English and has studied Spanish and Norwegian. She holds a MA in International Development from the University of Kent and a BA in International Relations from Simmons College. In her spare time, Marine enjoys traveling, cooking, and writing for her blog.
Heleen Vollers - Deputy Director, Institutional Programming Officer
Heleen Vollers is a Dutch national and currently works for Ridens Public Affairs, Brussels with a special focus on Critical Raw Materials and US-EU trade relations. After she finished her MA European Studies in Maastricht, she went to South Africa to work as a volunteer with wild animals. When she returned back to the Netherlands she did a minor in Conflict Studies and subsequently an internship at the Dutch Permanent Representation to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague. Before joining the consultancy world in Brussels, she worked as a policy analyst. Heleen speaks Dutch and English with a basic understanding of German and Spanish.
Sarah Velud- Programming Officer, Tools of the Trade
Sarah Velud is a French national and currently works for Hume Brophy, a public affairs consultancy in Brussels. Prior to moving to Brussels, Sarah lived in France and the United States for her studies, and grew up in Cairo, Egypt. She has an academic background in Political Science and European studies, and holds an MA in International Relations and European Affairs from Sciences Po and Washington State University. Before working as a consultant, Sarah did an internship at the United Nations in New York for the Department of Public Information and also worked for the EPP Group in the European Parliament. She speaks French, English, Spanish and a little bit of Russian and Arabic.
Brikena Xhomaqi - Programming Officer, Ambassador Series
Brikena Xhomaqi is an Albanian citizen and currently Director of Erasmus Student Network, an international non-profit organisation that works towards a more mobile Europe. Before joining ESN, Brikena was Human Rights & Solidarity Coordinator at the European Students' Union and Social Affairs Committee Member. Prior to moving to Brussels, Brikena lived in France and Italy for her studies and work. She speaks French, English, Italian and Albanian and has studied Dutch recently. She has an academic background in Political Science and International Management, she holds an MA in International Development from the Professional Institute of Global Management of University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and a sandwich programme in Innovative Project Management from Polytechnic Schools of Sophia Antipolis. In her spare time, Brikena enjoys volunteering and designing.
