Aaron Schumacher - Senior Vice President

Aaron Schumacher is the Senior Vice President of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP), where he supports the President in the administrative and logistical backstopping as well as the implementation of YPFP’s strategy, programs, external outreach, and human capital fortification.

He is pursuing his master’s degree at The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), concentrating in International Economics and Latin American Studies. Prior to SAIS, he worked with a U.S.-based nonprofit organization in Nicaragua, where he managed numerous youth leadership and community development programs. This followed a two-year stint as an Associate with Blue Star Strategies, LLC, an international strategic consulting firm in Washington, DC that advises foreign governments and companies as well as U.S. companies on a range of political, regulatory, and investment issues.

During this time, he served as the Director of YPFP’s Liaisons Program, which oversees a group of more than 60 young professionals working across sectors—in government, the private sector, the nonprofit world, academia, and the media—who serve as official representatives of YPFP to their respective employers and provide guidance on YPFP’s strategy and operations.

Born in Washington, DC, Aaron received his B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Washington, DC chapter of Amigos de las Américas.
