Saad Amrani, Chief Commissioner at the Brussels Police Department and Strategic Advisor to the Commissioner General of the Federal Police, will answer questions about security and integration in Brussels two years after the March 22 attacks. Which steps has the Belgian police taken in their radicalisation prevention and integration work? What can and should the Brussels community do to foster integration among its different ‘bubbles’? What are the lessons learnt and know-hows developed since 2016? The event is part of the Global Shapers Brussels 'Burst Your Bubble' initiative. The purpose of the project is to engage members of the Brussels community in conversations around ideological and cultural diversity across the Brussels region.
Mr. Saad Amrani is a leading advocate in the European capital’s fight against radicalisation and ISIS. In his position with the Brussels Police, Amrani is responsible for securing European Summits and other international high level meetings, maintaining public order at demonstrations, matters dealing with foreign born communities, and international issues. Since 2015, he had led a joint project between the Moroccan and Belgian police on radicalization issues.
This event is jointly organised by the ‘Burst Your Bubble’ project of the WEF Global Shapers Brussels Hub and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy - Brussels.
