How should you greet an ambassador? What is the best way to approach a CEO? Who should be placed at the head of the table for a VIP event? What are some tips for mastering small talk during a formal reception?

With support from the U.S. Mission to the EU, YPFP is proud to announce an exclusive opportunity for specialised training in Protocol Basics from the International School of Protocol and Diplomacy (ISPD) that will provide answers to questions like these and many more.

As a vehicle for helping to maintain normal relations between states, organisations and people, protocol is an inherent part of diplomacy and of particular relevance for anyone working in an international environment. Here in Brussels – the centre of European politics and the home of many major multinational companies – having knowledge of protocol is essential.

During this unique three-hour Saturday morning workshop, selected YPFP members will be introduced to the basics of protocol and will be provided with hands-on training in protocol from a host and a guest perspective by experts from ISPD. Participants will have the chance to learn critical skills for both organising and attending high level events and to develop the necessary expertise to act appropriately and confidently in personal and professional situations that require a level of diplomatic finesse, including VIP events, presentations, receptions, dinners and meetings.

Recipients of the protocol training will be presented with a certificate of attendance from ISPD upon completion of the workshop.

Due to limited space, we will accept participants on a strictly first-come, first-served basis. Please ensure that you can commit to attending before registering.
