WalterLane is pleased to lead the search for a Project Manager, US-German Relations / Transatlantic Relations for the DC office of one of Europe's leading foundations. The foundation’s work focuses on the trans-Atlantic partnership and new foreign policy challenges, with an emphasis on the impact of the financial crisis on U.S. and European economic and social policy. The foundation provides a forum for global best practices and a venue for thought leaders to exchange ideas.
Location: Washington, DC
In this role you report to the Director of Transatlantic Relations and support the team’s research and program needs in appropriate topic areas. You will collaborate with other team members to develop programming that supports the organization’s standing as a prominent voice in transatlantic relations.
Manage the foundation's research on German Politics and US-German relations *Lead a new project - an annual anchor publication focusing on multiple aspects of the future of US-German relations * Provide research for major transatlantic research product support * Contribute to and write short and mid-length pieces and reports * Design new proposals/projects with public and private sector partners * * Liaise with the diplomatic community and young leaders networks; actively build relationships * Manage or assist with programmatic logistics related to events *
You should have a Master’s degree in international affairs or a related field plus 1 – 2 years of related work experience, OR a Bachelor’s with 2+ years of relevant work experience
Proficiency in German
A sound knowledge of German policymaking processes, politics and Germany’s role in the transatlantic relationship
Outstanding research & writing skills
Professional experience working with public- and private-sector individuals from around the world
