Job Description

The Internship Program at the EastWest Institute provides talented students and recent graduates with a three- month (or longer) unpaid training opportunity designed to encourage professional and personal development. We encourage out-of-the-box thinking and value fresh perspectives.

As part of the on the job training process interns will work closely with their supervisor on research projects, administrative and logistical support, and other necessary tasks specific to their respective department. Additionally, interns will add to their skill sets by attending informal and formal learning sessions and an optional research project. Job Responsibilities

EWI’s cyber program provides a crucial forum for building international, private-public partnerships and for shaping the policies we need to protect cyberspace. Interns will be exposed to the challenges the international community faces concerning cybersecurity.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in planning and coordinating the Initiative meetings;
  • Assist in the preparation and follow-up for conferences and meetings including preparing for events, identifying speakers for events, database management, sending invitations, drafting background materials, helping with communicating with speakers re: logistics, registration of participants, following-up on invitations;
  • Assist with the Initiative related administrative tasks;
  • Complete research on topics, institutions, and individuals relevant to the Initiative;
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Student enrolled in a relevant graduate or undergraduate degree program or a recent graduate (if you are planning to continue your education within the next six months); 
  • Background and interest in international relations or security studies desirable;
  • Good writing ability and attention to detail;
  • Fluency in English a must. Proficiency in other languages is an advantage, especially Russian, Chinese and Arabic;
  • The ability and drive to perform in a fast-paced international environment;
  • PC literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Internet-research savvy;
  • Team player, highly motivated, flexible, and able to efficiently handle multiple tasks.
