Job Description

As ONE's Social Media Coordinator you will be responsible for producing, managing, and creating content on ONE's US/Canada social accounts. You will be part of a dynamic team, working closely with the Content Manager and US Digital Director to create engaging, strategic content promoting ONE's advocacy and policy campaigns, engage grassroots audiences with the latest content strategies, drive traffic to ONE's website, and build ONE's social communities. If you love using social media, have some HTML and webpage formatting experience and thrive in a deadline-driven environment, then this is the job for you! This is a full-time position based in our DC office and reports to the US Content Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Post and manage content to social media platforms
  • Collaborate with the Digital team to help create content based on ONE's issues and campaigns, along with topical content around news items, cultural items, popular memes, and multimedia pieces
  • Copy edit and proofread content on the ONE US blog
  • Manage and administer external relationships with content partners and agencies, as well as internal relationships with other teams
  • Manage daily posts to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and other relevant social channels
  • Monitor social and blog analytics for trends and report results to internal stakeholders
  • Team up with Content Manager to organize weekly and monthly US blog and homepage schedules
  • Organize periodic social media content schedules with the Digital team
  • Coordinate schedules with International team to cross-post between US and other ONE websites
  • Support the US Content Manager in carrying out ONE's content strategy

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related programs
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience with blogging and social media
  • Expert ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Relevant editorial skills and experience, especially with AP Style guidelines
  • Attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Wordpress, Mac OS systems, MS Office programs, and Google docs
  • Light HTML and web page formatting experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Hootsuite, or other measurement tools
  • Versatility to thrive in a fluctuating and sometimes unpredictable environment
  • Preference for collaboration with others, including team members from around the world
  • General interest and dedication to the mission of ONE
  • Knowledge of the international development sector and campaigning organizations a plus
  • Ability to consistently apply good judgment and make good and responsible decisions
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times
