Job Description

Members of the bipartisan, bicameral U.S. Helsinki Commission are supported by a small professional staff with in-depth regional and policy expertise. For all positions, relevant experience and degree(s) will be valued over Capitol Hill or political work.


Currently, the Commission is seeking to fill the following open position:


Office Manager


The ideal candidate would have administrative experience that will prepare him or her to manage all administrative functions of a small government agency, including coordinating hearings, briefings, events, and publications; managing official travel; managing budgetary, financial, and personnel matters; directing and supervising interns, other administrative personnel, and “front office” functions; acting as the agency’s liaison to the Government Accountability Office; and maintaining the agency’s records and files.


A successful candidate will have a strong commitment to public service; strong writing, speaking and analytical skills; and be proactive, resourceful, well-organized, and able to meet deadlines. Individuals must be U.S. citizens and have, or be able to obtain, a Top Secret Clearance.
