Blue Star Strategies, LLC, a boutique international government affairs firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a paid fall intern. With constant access to the firm’s senior partners, this opportunity allows for substantive work on major projects.
Our clients are foreign governments and businesses as well as U.S. companies seeking services abroad, with a focus on Europe and Latin America in more than 30 countries. Our current sectors range from construction, financial services, media, multilateral organizations, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, to workforce development.
The internship will be for approximately three (3) months, ideally Tues. September 8 – Fri. December 4, 2015, but with some flexibility on the start and end dates. The intern will be expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm, and will be paid a monthly stipend as an independent contractor.
Knowledge of the U.S. political system and current world affairs are a must, as are superb writing, researching and analytical skills. Preferred prior internship experience includes Capitol Hill, U.S. Department of State or Commerce, multilateral organizations, non-profits and private sector. Candidates must also be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and some administrative experience is preferred. Fluency in English and proficiency in a second European language (preferably Spanish) or Indo-European language (preferably Latvian or Russian) is also highly desirable. We are seeking a M.A. student or recent graduate.
