Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as a Junior Content Management Specialist who possesses insatiable curiosity, dedication to quality, and a desire to be part of a rapidly-growing company. The ideal candidate will have experience with military and/or international affairs, and will have excellent writing and editing skills. 

Junior Content Management Specialists extract information submitted through email, do research, and develop encyclopedic articles based on this information. They also work on datasets and help develop mapping capabilities using tools like ArcGIS, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, QGIS, Google Earth, and others. Content managers must also interact with customers over the phone and through email to collect and refine requirements.  

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Work under the direction or tutelage of Content Editors and Site Leads to make the web content well-organized, useful, and engaging
  • Extract relevant content from a variety of sources, and create from this content wiki articles in a format tailored to the information needs of end-users 

Job Requirements

Required qualifications:

  • Clearable US citizen
  • Excellent at organizing disparate written material into a coherent whole
  • Research and analysis skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of US government and military organizations
Highly desirable qualifications:
  • Fluency in Arabic
  • Work experience with the military or federal government (such as the State Department, USAID, or other agencies)
  • Experience with Wiki Markup Language (like in Wikipedia)
  • Knowledge of library science
  • Knowledge and experience using GIS tools (such as ArcGIS)
  • Knowledge and experience using HTML
  • Experience with database management
Required Education/Experience: 
Undergraduate or Graduate degree. Experience writing/editing reports preferred.
