Turkish Heritage Organization (THO), a young non-profit organization that was established to promote discussion and dialogue around Turkey’s role in the international community and issues of importance in the U.S. – Turkey bilateral relationship, is seeking a full-time, paid intern for its Washington office to provide research and administrative assistance for projects and events.
From security and energy to humanitarian aid, the economy, education and technology, THO explores critical issues and seeks to expand channels of communication and bridge the gap between government officials, opinion leaders and subject experts. In addition to acquiring more knowledge in these fields, the internship will provide practical experience in growing a young non-profit.
THO partners with leading think tanks and universities to host various programs and events that promote and highlight these key issues. Specific duties for the intern will include administrative support with current and future event planning, research and analysis, database building, social media support and other duties as assigned.
Location – Washington DC
Successful applicants are generally undergraduate and graduate students with a demonstrated interest in political science, international relations, public administration, public policy and communications with a keen interest in non-profits.
In addition to a strong academic background, writing and research skills, and proficiency in internet tools/social media, familiarity with Turkish – American relations and Turkish – American diaspora are desired.
