American Councils is seeking volunteers to evaluate scholarship applications of high school students from 23 countries.
American Councils is fortunate to attract nearly 300 volunteers yearly in the DC area to evaluate and score over 6,000 of applications to determine which students will be selected for 800 Department of State scholarship slots. Our volunteers come from all backgrounds including retired Foreign Service officers, returned Peace Corps volunteers, and educators, all of whom share a commitment to furthering international education and cultural exchange.
Evaluation runs from November 2015 through March 2016.
• Do you want to contribute to intercultural communication and understanding?
• Do you want to help provide opportunities for American students to immerse themselves in critical languages?
• Do you want to learn about the cultures and countries of the former Soviet Union, Europe and Southeast Europe through the eyes of their young people?
