Position Description

Digital Content Manager, Foreign and Defense Policy Studies: The American Enterprise Institute seeks a full-time digital content manager responsible for managing AEI’s foreign and defense policy studies department’s digital presence.

The manager will oversee the day-to-day maintenance of AEI’s Critical Threats Project website. He/she will work within the Foreign and Defense Policy Studies team at AEI, closely coordinating efforts with AEI’s Communications and Digital Strategy team.

Position Roles and Responsibilities

He/she will be responsible for editing and creating digital foreign and defense policy products, website posting, packaging cultivated foreign and defense policy content, social media strategy, advertising, and email marketing. This position will collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute an editorial calendar for the Critical Threats website pages. The manager will also be responsible for ensuring editorial standards and procedures related to photos, videos, and copy are followed on all sites and will assist in continuing to improve and update websites as necessary. He/she will also be responsible for assisting with the creation of CTP graphics and maps for the Critical Threats Project. He/she should have an entrepreneurial disposition to continue developing the website, expanding marketing of CTP projects, and growing AEI’s web audience within a positive team dynamic.

Eligibility and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have three-to-five years of web editing and marketing experience, a strong knowledge of the Middle East, national security, and terrorism issues, and impeccable copy-editing. In addition to the technical skills listed, a successful candidate will possess strong communication and writing skills, excellent project-management chops, and a team-player attitude.
