Organization Description
The Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington (AGSIW), established in 2014, is an independent, non-profit institution dedicated to increasing the understanding and appreciation of the social, economic, and political diversity of the Arab Gulf states. Through expert research, analysis, exchanges, and public discussion, the institute seeks to encourage thoughtful debate and inform decision makers shaping U.S. policy regarding this critical geo-strategic region.


Location - Washington, DC


Job Responsibilities
This full-time position is responsible for supporting the Program Outreach and Communication team by developing and coordinating AGSIW’s digital presence and growth including strategy and planning. Collaborate proactively with all elements of AGSIW as appropriate to:

  • Develop engaging, timely, and relevant digital web content

  • Create, edit, post, and maintain written, audio/visual, and graphic content for the web

  • Design newsletters and email campaigns, manage email list-serve

  • Update and monitor social networking sites

  • Help conceive and oversee web redesign initiatives

  • Record, edit, and post videos of events and special projects

  • Compile and report on web analytics, and use results to increase engagement and optimize performance of our web properties

  • Assist with events and other tasks as required


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years of relevant working experience

  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience writing, editing, and maintaining web content using a content management system

  • Proven ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently, and demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work with minimal supervision in a team environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Content Management System development, graphic design, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign), and Microsoft Office skills

  • Audio/video production and editing experience

  • Demonstrated experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting on web analytics

  • Familiarity with and background in Middle East affairs preferred

  • Web development skills, familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript desired

  • Familiarity with AP style desired
