The Latin American Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars seeks interns for fall, spring, and summer positions. This internship is designed to provide the individuals selected with the opportunity for practical experience in an environment that successfully mixes academic study with public policy. Job Description

The Latin American Program (LAP) seeks an intern to provide administrative and research support for its work on citizen security and Central America.  This intern will gain valuable experience in a variety of projects such as conference organization, library and Internet research, assistance with the preparation of publications, and administrative assignments (data entry, proofreading, website management, greeting visitors) in support of Center activities. Internships also provide opportunities to attend events within the Wilson Center and around Washington. Please note that this is an unpaid internship.

Job Requirements

Applicants should possess an interest in, coursework related to, and/or experience working on Latin American issues, particularly citizen security, migration, and Central America. Successful applicants should have strong research and writing skills, be detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collectively as part of group. Strong writing skills and language ability in both Spanish and English are preferred. Applicants must also be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, a recent graduate (within the last year), and/or have been accepted to enter an advanced degree program.
